Rooftop of Legendary Music Venue Will Host Singers First Show Since His Throat Surgery Earlier This Year
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 12, 2016) – Tyler Farr will make a special appearance at the legendary downtown Broadway bar, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 7:30 PM CST.
This free show presented by NRA Country will be Farr’s first since he
had to cancel a tour due to having microlaryngeal throat surgery to
remove a vocal polyp on his vocal chords in January of this year. Storme
Warren of SiriusXM will host the event.
Farr expressed excitement to return to his former employer saying, “I
worked at Tootsie’s when I first moved to Nashville. Seems fitting to
have my first show be back where it started!”
The power vocalist first became aware of vocal issues while on tour
with Jason Aldean last summer – and the problem was identified during a
severe bout of bronchitis at the end of 2015.
“This is the last thing I would’ve ever expected,” said the
operatically-trained Farr. “I sing hard, and I give it everything I have
every night, but I really believed I was putting my training
to work. After a #1 song, an awesome tour with Jason and getting
engaged, this is not how I thought I was going to be winding up 2015.”
Rather than wait and see, Farr and his medical team opted to remove
the polyps and begin vocal rest, followed by aggressive therapy. To
maximize recovery and minimize time off the road, the Missouri-born
owner of three gold and one platinum single canceled all shows for the
next few months.
About Tyler Farr:
Columbia Nashville’s Tyler Farr released his highly anticipated sophomore album, Suffer In Peace, in April 2015 making its debut in the top 5 on the BILLBOARD Top 200 Albums and BILLBOARD Country Albums Charts. Previously with the release of his debut album Redneck Crazy, which released in 2013, Farr landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and #5 on the Billboard Top 200
making Farr the only solo male country artist in the last 10 years to
have his first two studio albums debut in the top-5 on the Billboard 200
Chart. Tyler’s first single off the newly released Suffer In Peace album, “A Guy Walks into a Bar,” proved to be Farr’s third No. 1 hit and is now RIAA
Certified GOLD. Farr’s #1, platinum-selling title-track “Redneck Crazy”
projected Farr forward to celebrate back-to-back #1 singles, including
his first #1 as a songwriter, with his Gold-certified hit “Whiskey in my
Water.” Farr’s most recent single at radio, “Better In Boots,” was
described by the New York Times as a “muscular love song.” The
Missouri native’s dry wit and energetic live show has earned him
industry recognition as a 2014 CRS New Faces of Country Radio and 2014
Music Row “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” nominee, as well as rave
reviews for his coveted opening slots touring with Jason Aldean, Florida
Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Brad Paisley.
