Eric Burgett Rich Man

Single Review: Rich Man – Eric Burgett 3:23

by Joanna Demee for Country Music News International

Country music artists have a long-standing love affair with the six-string guitar. However, a select few have chosen a different path. Following in the footsteps of legends like Charlie Rich, Ronnie Milsap & Phil Vassar, Eric Burgett has taken the 88 key torch and is blazing his own trail of standout country music. Burgett grew up on the family farm in Latham, IL performing on an old upright piano at his parents’ tavern, The KORN KRIB, along with Sunday services at the Latham United Methodist Church

This song is about appreciation of the little things in life. All the cold beer in a can, the gold sun, the blue sky, makes him feel that he is a rich man, and he needs no money to feel that way. For whoever thinks that he is crazy, Eric assures them that he is not, but he feels that he is a lucky king that he is able to have, feel, and taste all that stuff, along with the company of his ‘queen’. This is a nice chill song, with a nice tune, and a good reminder to give attention to the details, that little by little sum up our whole life.
