Shares Special Moment with His Parents!!

Nashville, TN (Friday, June 15, 2012) ASCAP
and BMI Nashville hosted a #1 Party this week at Puckett’s in downtown
Nashville to celebrate Rascal Flatts’ latest #1 at Country radio,
“Banjo.” The song marks their 14th #1 song at Country radio and the
group’s first #1 with Big Machine Label Group.

peermusic’s Neil Thrasher co-wrote the lead single from the band’s
current album CHANGED, with fellow songwriters Wendell Mobley and Tony
Martin.  The honor was made even more special for Thrasher because his
parents Betty Lane and Joe were on hand to celebrate his success, even
when a table of “heckler’s” in the audience, which consisted of Gary,
Joe Don and Jay, shouted out to him…”hey, thanks for dressing up for
us!” to which the audience exploded with laughter. Thrasher was not the
only person during the celebration who caught a zinger or two from the
jovial bunch.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Neil as a part of the peermusic
family and celebrating this current success with him makes it all the
sweeter,” says Kevin Lamb, Vice President/ peermusic Nashville.

“This is Neil’s third #1 song this year!! His other two #1’s are
“Tattoos on This Town” and “Fly Over States” recorded by Jason Aldean,”
says Michael Knox, Producer/Sr. Creative Director/ peermusic Nashville.

A Birmingham native, Thrasher grew up surrounded by music. His
father was a member of the gospel group the Thrasher Brothers, (who were
inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2005,) and he soon
followed in his father’s footsteps, moving to Nashville and pursuing his
own music career. In 1996 he signed to Atlantic Records as part of the
duo Thrasher Shiver and began landing cuts for other artists like
Diamond Rio and Billy Ray Cyrus that same year.

Over the past decade Thrasher has penned hits for Jason Aldean,
Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Montgomery Gentry, Carrie Underwood and
Trace Adkins, among others. He won the Gospel Music Association Country
Song of the Year Award in 2010 for his song “Somebody Like Me,” which
was recorded by Christian artist Jason Crabb. “Banjo” marks Thrasher’s
4th #1 song for Rascal Flatts!  His other Rascal Flatts #1 songs
include,
“Why Wait,” which is also a peermusic song, “Fast Cars and Freedom” and “Take Me There”
