Drown My Regrets by Tiffany Grace

Just 21, but full of heart wrenching stories, Tiffany Grace is a singer songwriter determined to catch your ear. Drown My Regrets is her latest single and with its pop-country approach, she draws you into her world of a hopeless night out trying to get rid of a past lover. “Baby, I think I’ve been losing my mind, I’ve been lying to my therapist,” begins the self inflicted playful romp through the remains of the busted relationship.
The track has a nice complex drive to it, dominated by aggressive guitars and piano laying on top of a strong commanding rhythm section. As Tiffany dreamily sings “I only ever wanted you,” she counters that with a dislike for her former admirer, “I can’t love you, not this way.” Cigarettes and wine that drowns her regrets add to the grittiness of the arrangement. The up-tempo composition has a very angular feel contrasted by vocals that are both languid and pointed. The blonde Australian pop songstress deftly pulls on your heartstrings as the listener roots for some kind of victory. There’s an acoustic guitar breakdown as the song nears its end, adding to the mystery as the band kicks back in to crank out the final chorus.
Tiffany Grace originally hails from Mackay, Queensland where she began her musical journey at the age of six with vocal lessons and by age 13 had learned the guitar. You can hear the influence on this recording as she draws from the pool of Ed Sheeran, Dean Lewis and Taylor Swift. QLD Music Trails had this to say about Grace, “Constantly looking for new song writing techniques, her songs all have a unique touch that shines through her passionate, energetic performance.”
In a Brian Peel interview, Tiffany stated, “My song writing is a way of me reflecting on situations and helps me get through some hard times. Then to know the songs I share have a positive impact on other people’s lives only encourages me to keep creating my art.”
Drown My Regrets, the first single from her debut full length album by Tiffany Grace is available now.
