This One’s For Him: A Tribute to Guy Clark

was nominated for a
GRAMMY last night in the Best Folk Album category.  Awards will be
handed out at the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards at the Staples Center in Los
Angeles on February 10, 2013.

A
timeless tapestry, lovingly woven by today’s most notable artists, This
One’s For Him: A Tribute to Guy Clark is a brilliant record that shall
stand the test of time for many years to come.

This One’s For Him: A Tribute To Guy Clark was lovingly produced by GRAMMY-winning producer Tamara Saviano (Beautiful Dreamer: The Songs of Stephen Foster)—who
is also working with Clark on his definitive biography—and frequent
Clark co-writer Shawn Camp (“Sis Draper,” “Magnolia Wind”).

The
collection was released by Houston’s Icehouse Music in December, 2011.
It includes 30 tracks by 33 artists who are friends and colleagues of
Clark or who have been influenced by his remarkable compositions. The
collection was mixed and mastered by Fred Remmert.  Core band members
include Camp, Verlon Thompson, Jen Gunderman, Lloyd Maines, Glenn
Fukunaga, Mike Bub, Larry Atamanuik, and Kenny Malone.

Part of the proceeds benefit the Center for Texas Music History at Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.

“The
first time I heard Guy Clark, I thought it made everything I’d heard up
to that point something other than a song. His ability to translate the
emotional into the written word is extraordinary.” – Lyle Lovett

“Five words immediately come to
mind with the arrival of this long-overdue tribute to one of America’s
most remarkable songsmiths, those words being “What took so damn long?”
Every performance on this excellent 30-song, two CD set reflects the
wrenching emotions that are instilled in every one of Guy Clark’s
compositions.” – Blurt

“From Rodney Crowell’s
first words kicking off the recording to Jerry Jeff Walker’s final note
on the last track, This One’s For Him: A Tribute to Guy Clark is one of
the finest releases to grace the music world in a long time.” –
