Toronto, ON – Winner of the 2012 Slaight Music Humanitarian Award, 18-year-old Canadian country artist Tenille is proud to present the Play It Forward tour.
Beginning in Peace River on October 15, the tour will incorporate music
and motivational speaking for students in schools across Alberta,
promoting positive leadership efforts for Canada’s youth. The tour is
sponsored by Canadian Tire (Grand Prairie store), Caron Measurement and
Controls, Low Impact, Save on Foods and T-Ram Canada. Additional 2012
and 2013 Canadian tour dates to be announced soon. For current listings,
see below.
 “I
am really looking forward to being out on the road and recognizing
students who make a positive difference within their own school
environments,” says Tenille. “It’s exciting to know that these kids
inspire others through simple acts of kindness or dreams to change the
world. I’m honoured to play for them and inspired by their potential to
play it forward!”
Tenille
will give a 50-minute presentation at each school that will include a
performance and interactive activities. The school will pre-select one
to three students that will be recognized during the show for their
leadership skills. At the end of the tour, these students will be
entered in a draw for the chance to win $10,000 to put towards a charity
of their choice and an in-school charity program.
In 2012, Tenille won Female Artist of the Year at the Alberta Country Music Association Awards and in 2011 she was the youngest ever to be nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the CCMA Awards. Her debut album, REAL (Royalty
Records), was released in June 2011 and debuted at  #13 on the
Soundscan Country charts the week of release. Tenille is the founder of
Alberta-based charity Big Hearts For Big Kids which has raised
$194,000 since its inception in 2010. All proceeds raised at the annual
event benefit Sunrise House, the only emergency youth shelter north of
Edmonton.
