TEGAN MARIE TO PRESENT AT THE
2017 RADIO DISNEY MUSIC AWARDS AND BRING HER SHOWSTOPPING VOCALS TO STAGECOACH
THIS WEEKEND (4/29-30)

13-Year-Old Country Vocalist Teams Up With Radio Disney Country To Take
Over Salina South Middle School For “Classroom Karaoke” With
RDMA-Nominated Songs

Nashville, TN (April 27, 2017) – 13-year-old country sensation TEGAN MARIE has a whirlwind weekend in store, as she’s presenting at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards (RDMA) taping live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA, Saturday (4/29), and making her Stagecoach
— California’s Country Music Festival — debut in Indio, CA, Sunday
(4/30). Last month, the powerhouse vocalist teamed up with Radio Disney
Country, as part of Give a Note Foundation’s MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS Tour,
to present Salina South Middle School in Salina, KS, with a $2,500 grant
to be matched by the CMA Foundation. While there, Marie and Radio
Disney Country took over CMA Music Teacher of Excellence Matt Gerry’s
class for “Classroom Karaoke” with RDMA-nominated songs.

Check out Tegan Marie’s “Classroom Karaoke” featuring RDMA-nominated songs with
Salina South Middle School here.

Radio Disney’s GM and Disney Channels’ VP of Music Strategy, Phil Guerini,
is very supportive of Marie, having invited her to be a Radio Disney
Country correspondent at the 2016 RDMA and make her CMA Music Fest debut
on their stage last year in Nashville. In a recent Detroit Free Press A&E cover feature on the Michigan native titled “The Princess of Generation Z,” he praises:

“’Tegan is just a thousand-watt light bulb in a dark room…When you look for ‘it,’ the definition is Tegan.” – Guerini, Detroit Free Press
Fans
can watch for Marie, as the RDMA will air as a special two-hour
telecast, “Disney Channel Presents the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards,”
from 7-9 p.m. (ET) Sunday (4/30), across multiple Disney-branded
platforms. And all ages are welcome to join the young starlet as she
makes her Stagecoach debut on the Half-Pint Hootenanny Stage, powered by
Sweety High, at 6 p.m. (PT) the same night — children 10 and under get in to the festival free. Come see what has critics raving:
“Whatever it is, Tegan Marie has it!” – Good Morning America

“…powerhouse…” People

“Tegan Marie is proving that she could not only be the next young star in country music, but
the next big star period.” – Country Rebel

“If you remember the shock we all felt when a 13-year-old LeAnn Rimes first hit the country scene with ‘Blue’ back in the mid-‘90s, then you’ll appreciate how rare a talent we’ve got in Tegan.”
– Rare Country

“…she tackles the difficult, soaring power ballad like an old pro. Marie
makes hitting and sustaining the high notes look easy…” – AXS

Marie is hard at work in the studio writing with mega hitmaker Nathan Chapman
for her debut album. She also recently participated in Sweety High’s
panel on Gen Z, “The New Power Brokers,” at SXSW in Austin, TX, and was
honored to pay tribute to Motown legend Smokey Robinson (2016 recipient
of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song) with a
noteworthy performance of “My Guy” on PBS’ star-studded special “Smokey
Robinson: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song”
hosted in Washington, D.C.
