NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Lynyrd Skynyrd will make a triumphant return to the Volunteer Jam
stage once again. This will be the iconic southern rock band’s sole
Nashville performance before embarking on their final, two-year 2018 Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour presented by SiriusXM starting in May. The lineup for the star-studded event includes Charlie Daniels and The Charlie
Daniels Band, ALABAMA, Alison Krauss, Billy F Gibbons of ZZ Top,
Blackberry Smoke, Bobby Bare, Chris Janson, Chris Young, Chuck Leavell,
Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Justin Moore, Lee
Brice, Ricky Skaggs, Sara Evans, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Travis Tritt.
Lynyrd Skynyrd and Charlie Daniels have a long-lasting friendship of
nearly four decades, and the band has a special history of performing at
the Volunteer Jam. After the tragic 1977 plane crash involving
the members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the band returned to the stage for the
first time with Daniels at Volunteer Jam ’79. With songs like
“Sweet Home Alabama,” “Free Bird,” and “Gimme Three Steps,” and a career
spanning more than 40 years, Lynyrd Skynyrd will bring their legendary
songs back to Volunteer Jam.
