SONGBIRDS GUITAR MUSEUM TAKES FLIGHT

DICK DALE, CALIFORNIA GUITAR TRIO, MICHAEL McCALLIE
SET FOR LIVE SHOWS IN APRIL   
February 28, 2017, Chattanooga, TN Songbirds Guitar Museum,
the world’s largest private collection of rare, vintage guitars
announces several live shows for their newly opened museum performance
space. The intimate venue enables concertgoers to feel like they’re part
of the music and allows spectators to connect with performers in a

 for the fully-seated April shows with the boundless California Guitar
Trio, classical guitarist Michael McCallie, and surf music phenomenon
guitarist Dick Dale. The guitar-oriented, pop culture museum and music
event site is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee on the campus of the
world famous Chattanooga Choo Choo.
California
Guitar Trio will perform on Tuesday, April 4 at 7:30pm. Entrance is for
age 18 and over and a valid ID is required. The universe of guitar
knows no boundaries for The California Guitar Trio. Since 1991, the
group, comprised of Bert Lams, Hideyo Moriya and Paul Richards, has
enthralled listeners with a singular sound that fearlessly crisscrosses
genres. The trio’s questing spirit drives it to explore the
intersections between rock, jazz, classical, and world music. 
Michael
McCallie and Friends will take the stage on Thursday, April 20 at
7:30pm. The show is age 18 and over and a valid ID is required.
Chattanooga native Michael McCallie has distinguished himself as one of
the most promising young performers working within the classical guitar
community today. Michael has performed in concert halls throughout the
United States, including Sprague Memorial Hall at Yale University, the
Cohen-Davison Theatre at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Dohnanyi
Recital Hall at The Florida State University and has twice performed on
the Guitar Sarasota Concert Series. In 2015, he shared the stage with
The Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra as a featured soloist.
On
Friday, April 21 legendary guitarist Dick Dale will show off his skill
at 7:00pm. This show allows attendees 6-17 years old accompanied by
parent/guardian over 18. Dick Dale’s style is something different and
unique. Since his first appearances Balboa, California at the famed
Rendezvous Ballroom, he has set and broken attendance records everywhere
he’s performed. Dick Dale invented surf music and was given the title
“King of the Surf Guitar” by his fellow surfers with whom he surfed with
from sun-up to sun-down.
