Sammy Arriaga, the first-generation Cuban American country artist, is once again weaving his Latin roots into the fabric of country music with his latest single, “Left My Heart In Texas.” Released on all digital streaming platforms, this melancholic midtempo track, offered in both English and Spanish versions, explores the universal theme of lost love while celebrating the unique cultural blend that defines Arriaga’s artistry.

“Left My Heart In Texas” is a testament to Arriaga’s signature tenor and his ability to bridge cultural divides through music. The song’s production, helmed by Sam Martinez under Arriaga’s Dead Rose Records and Walk Off Entertainment label partnership, creates a rich and emotive soundscape that perfectly complements the song’s heartfelt lyrics.

The song’s inspiration stems from a personal experience, with Arriaga stating, “This tune was sparked by a true story, but it’s way more than just some old tale.” His affection for the Lone Star State is palpable, as he expresses a strong connection to Texas and its welcoming music scene. “The Lone Star state has always cheered me and my music on since the start, and I’m half-ready to possibly plant roots there real soon. I always find myself sayin’, ‘my heart’s in Texas’ so I said, ‘why not throw a fun, catchy melody over that and see how it feels?!’”

The song’s Spanish version, “Mi Corazón Está en Texas,” further highlights Arriaga’s commitment to his cultural heritage. “Este tema viene de una historia real, pero es mucho más que un simple cuento viejo. Tejas siempre ha demostrado mucho amor a mí y a mi música desde el arranque, y ya estoy medio listo pa’ buscarme una casita ahí pronto. Siempre estoy diciendo, ‘Mi corazón está en Texas’, así que dije, ¿por qué no le pongo una melodía chida y pegajosa y vemos que pasa?”

Arriaga co-wrote the English version with Jared Griffin (“Noby Sidez”) and Jennifer Hart, and the Spanish version with Jennifer Leigh Ricotta, Jared Griffin (“Noby Sidez”), and Germán ‘Mango’ Duque. This collaborative effort has resulted in a song that resonates with authenticity and emotional depth.

To further showcase his unique country-Latin fusion sound, Arriaga recently launched his YouTube series, “The Country Latino Sessions.” This series provides a platform for Arriaga to explore and celebrate the intersection of his cultural influences, offering fans a deeper understanding of his artistic vision.

Arriaga’s growth as an artist has been nothing short of remarkable. His social media presence has surged in recent months, with significant increases in followers across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. This surge reflects his ability to connect with audiences on a genuine and relatable level.

“I’ve always wanted to merge my background with the country genre,” Arriaga explains. “I’m an artist that can wear that Hispanic-American crown proudly, because I was raised that way. It’s who I am. I speak it, I live it, I am it. So much of what I do celebrates that – many of my songs are also done in Spanish, and some Spanglish.”

“Left My Heart In Texas” is more than just a song; it’s a cultural bridge, a testament to the power of music to transcend boundaries. Sammy Arriaga’s ability to seamlessly blend his Latin roots with the country genre has solidified his position as a unique and compelling voice in the music industry. His latest release is a heartfelt ode to lost love and a celebration of the rich tapestry of his cultural identity.
