RICHARD LYNCH Interview by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show

Lamitschka: Music has many new fans throughout Europe who may be
hearing about you for the first time. How would you describe yourself
and the music you play to someone who has never seen or heard you?

Answer: I have had a wonderful year. Very proud of my recent awards
from the Academy of Western Artists, my increasing radio airplay and
of course the release of my latest album Think I’ll Carry It On and
I am thrilled to say it has a duet with Leona Williams of which I am
very proud.

Lamitschka: How was the last year for you? What were your
highlights?

Answer: I would have to say we are much busy with TV and radio
appearances and an increase in live performances

Lamitschka: What is your latest CD and how’s it doing?

Answer: I just released a 12 track album entitled Think I’ll Carry
It On of which I am extremely proud as all of the tracks were
self-penned. SO far it is doing great and has received rave reviews

Lamitschka: How did you choose the title for the CD? Is there a
story behind the name?

Answer: It came from a line in one of my new songs Back In 1953

Lamitschka: Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how do you go
about finding the songs for your CD?

Answer: Well I have to feel a song in order to record it. As I said
my latest album is all self-penned

Lamitschka: Please tell us about the songs on your album
(influences, etc).

Answer: I am very proud of them all. They range from patriot to
bordering on country gospel. My life experiences is always a major
influence, but most of all it is my Dad who was an amazing country
artist

Lamitschka: What is the difference between your last CD and your
current one?

Answer: I guess this one is more personal

Lamitschka: Your current single is being played by radio. What do
you feel is special about this song that makes people want to hear
it?

Answer: Currently we are getting tremendous airplay with Keyboard
Cowboy. It seems to strike a humorous cord and most people who use
social media can relate to it

Lamitschka: What kind of songs do you like to record the most?

Answer: Emotional, rather it be sad or funny I need to feel the
lyrics

Lamitschka: You did a duet with Leona Williams. How did that happen to
come about?

Answer: Most recently with Leona Williams. Touring in Texas I decided
it would be fun to write a good dance song and so I wrote Another
Honky Tonk Song. We new it would be a great duet and based on the
lyrics who better then Leona. We approached her with the idea and she
graciously agreed

Lamitschka: What is your favorite song among all the songs you have
recorded and what’s the story behind it?

Answer: I guess it would be Back In 1953 as it touches so strongly
on my Dad

Lamitschka: How much creative control do you have over your music?

Answer: Oh I listen to the folks around me but I have the finale
say.

Lamitschka: Who inspires you musically and how deep do your musical
roots run?

Answer: On my Dad for sure. Again he was a great traditional artist
who played with some of the greats. He put me on the stage with
Porter Wagner when I was eight years old and I sang A Tiger By The
Tail…..I was bitten by the bug for sure

Lamitschka: What was your big break that got you into the music
business?

Answer: It would have to say I am an over-night success arriving
after 40 years !

Lamitschka: Before you became a star, were your friends and family
supportive or was it a struggle?

Answer: Yes indeed I have been blessed with tremendous support

Lamitschka: What inspired you to become an artist?

Answer: My Dad for sure, I was raised in a country music household

Lamitschka: What inspired you to become a songwriter?

Answer: Living the country lifestyle

Lamitschka: What drives you?

Answer: I love what I am doing

Lamitschka: What’s unique about you that will differentiate you from
other artists?

Answer: Well when it comes to country music, I live that life. I was
raised on a farm and still bale hay, raise horses and donkey’s and
just enjoy the country way of life

Lamitschka: Is there anything in your life that you would change if
you could?

Answer: I wish my Dad could see how far I have come

Answer: The Grand Old Opry would be awesome

Lamitschka: What can your fans expect to see when they see you in
concert?

Answer: Real country music played the way it was meant to be and a
bunch of good ole country boys having fun enteraining them

Lamitschka: When you’re on tour, do you have time to play tourist?

Answer: Sometimes we do. When we tour Texas for 3 or 4 weeks at a
time we get to travel around some.

Lamitschka: Many music fans today get their information about
artists online. Do you have your own website and what will fans find
there?

Answer: Yes if they google us they will find us everywhere, our own
website, facebook, Reverbnation, Twitter, Spotify,
Soundcloud…..basically anywhere you can find music

Lamitschka: Tell us about the fan club and how people can join it.
