NASHVILLE –Nora Collinsis celebrating the holidays by supporting causes and charities she believes in
and she is encouraging her fans and followers to do the same during the season of giving #ITMUSTBECHRISTMAS.
“Generosity
comes from the heart, not the depth of your pockets,” said the MV2
Entertainment singer/songwriter. “I want people to see that
contributions of time are just as important as monetary donations; and
it is possible for everyone to make a difference – especially during the
holidays.”
Collins
used the National Day of Giving #GivingTuesday to make the announcement
on WISN, the ABC-TV affiliate in her hometown of Milwaukee, Wisc.,
where she kicked off the campaign
with the Jockey Being Family Foundation stuffing backpacks with supplies
for adopting families, which was especially meaningful since November
is National Adoption Month.
Collins
also played for tips to support the Alzheimer’s Association. Collins,
who is an Alzheimer’s Champion, became involved with the group several
years ago after she watched her beloved grandmother suffer with the
disease. She later went on to self-record one of her grandmother’s
favorite carols, “O Holy Night.” Now Collins has her first Christmas EPIt Must Be Christmason MV2 Entertainment, which is available now at all online retailers and her websitehttp://www.noracollins.com.
Over
the next several weeks Collins will be shining a spotlight and
volunteering for several groups including Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s
Hospital, Musicians on Call, Nashville Rescue Mission, St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital, and other commendable groups.
She will be dropping off cookies for first responders, providing blankets and towels
for sheltered animals, and shopping for a deserving child.
“I
have so much to be thankful for, but I also recognize the importance of
giving back and I know my fans feel the same way,” Collins said. “I
can’t wait to see what they are inspired to do to give back
#ITMUSTBECHRISTMAS.”
The EP, which is produced by MV2 Entertainment General ManagerTony Harrell,
features contemporary and holiday classics such as “I’ll Be Home for
Christmas,” “Last Christmas,” “Merry Christmas Darling,” and “Silent
Night” along with two songs that were co-written by Collins, “Christmas
Kiss” and the title cut, which captures the heart of the holidays. Listen to the EP here.
