Lisa Matassa’s Sunrise Highway
Media Tour This Week In Support of Release

(Nashville, TN)— It Is What It Is Records and Nine North Records will celebrate the release of rising country music star and industry veteran Lisa Matassa’s debut country album, Sunrise Highway, with a media blitz in New York City. In support of the album hitting  online retailers today, Matassa will be taping a performance of her current single, “Wouldn’t You Like To Know,” for the nationally syndicated lifestyle program, Better TV, set to air in over 150 markets next Tuesday, March 27th. She will also be featured on MLB.com and the Nancy Prestine radio show.

Produced by LMA Productions under the direction of Tony Bruno (Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias) and Joey Sykes (Meredith Brooks, Third Eye Blind, Don Henley), Sunrise Highway is an inspired musical compilation that incorporates traditional country values and powerhouse vocals backed by rockin’ contemporary production. Much of the album was originally composed and written in Nashville. Studio time was split between Jim “Moose” Brown’s (co-writer of Alan Jackson’s “It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere” and Co-Producer on Jamey Johnson’s album, “That Lonesome Song”) studio in Nashville and the legendary Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, New York where Long Island music legends like Billy Joel and Mariah Carey, as well as musical icons like Jennifer Lopez and Celine Dion have also recorded.

“I love the direction where country music is going,” says Lisa. “I bring a unique perspective to my music now,” expresses Lisa.  “Not many mothers with teenagers embark on a recording career later in life.  There’s a lot more country in America outside of Nashville,” states Matassa. Both Matassa and her current single, “Wouldn’t You Like To Know,” have been met with open arms by the country community and beyond. Celebrated music critic, Chuck Dauphin (Billboard, Music News Networks), has stated that her performance is “full of attitude” and has compared her radio ready sound to the likes of Heidi Newfield and Jo Dee Messina. Roughstock’s Matt Bjorke explains: “She is a living example of a large portion of the mainstream country audience and on this rockin’ tune she sings a song directly to that audience and should find herself a sizeable hit because of it. The tune leads off the equally strong debut album Sunrise Highway.”

Co-written with legendary writer Don Rollins (“It’s Five O’clock Somewhere”), “Wouldn’t You Like To Know,” has already hit #1 New and Active on the Billboard Indicator Charts.

About Lisa Matassa:
Lisa Matassa’s life is the ultimate comeback story. This Long Island wife and mother of two children garnered success as a teenager when she signed with Emergency Records and released two singles, 1987’s “I’ve Got The Hots For You” and 1988’s “Rock Me Baby.”  Both singles gained national and international airplay and reached the Top 10
on the Dance Music Charts.  Lisa eventually put her music career on the backburner for her family but that fire inside of her to perform never died. Now, this 40-something with a powerful voice and stunning good looks is conquering the country music scene.

Having opened for top national touring acts, including country heavyweights Eric Church and Thompson Square, Lisa’s unique perspective creates a brand of country music
incorporating traditional country values and powerhouse vocals backed by rockin’ contemporary production. Her variety of cultural and musical influences can be attributed to her having grown up in both New York and Southern Florida. She calls her new style “Long Island Country.”
