GAC TO SPONSOR KATIE ARMIGER’S TWENTY-SIX CITY
“GET SMART TOUR” TO LAUNCH MARCH 23RD
March 6, 2012 – Katie Armiger, who has become one of the biggest and brightest independent female country artists, will kick off her “Get Smart Tour” on March 23rd in West Hartford, Connecticut. The 26-city tour will be sponsored by Great American Country (GAC), dedicated to bringing country music and lifestyle programs to viewers in 62 million households across the country. Katie’s latest single “Scream,” from her third studio album Confessions of a Nice Girl, is climbing the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and the video is on the fan-voted GAC Top 20 Countdown for the fifth week in a row.
“We’ve watched Katie grow up before our eyes and through her videos on GAC,” said GAC President Ed Hardy. “We are thrilled to be part of her first national tour and look forward to sharing in her ongoing successes as her career progresses. GAC is proud to help new artists, such as Katie was, have a national TV platform on GAC to help grow their careers.”
Always eager to engage her fans Katie took to her social media sites to give them the chance to name her tour, the “Get Smart Tour,” Katie’s first headline tour of the U.S., will make stops at Colleges, Universities, and major Fairs and Festivals across the country. Slated to run through August this tour is the first time Katie is heading back out on the road since she spent most of her Summer and Fall with opening slots for some of country music’s biggest names including Darius Rucker, Ronnie Dunn, Little Big Town, Kellie Pickler, and Luke Bryan. With a full band on most dates Katie will perform fan favorites including “Scream,” “Kiss Me Now,” “Leaving Home,” “Best Song Ever,” “I Do, But Do I,” as well as test out new music for her forthcoming fourth studio album.
“It’s every artist’s dream to headline their own tour and to be able to do so with GAC’s support is amazing – I am so grateful to them for supporting my career,” said Katie. “I chose “Get Smart” for the obvious reason of where we are performing but also as a bit of tongue-in-cheek because I do plan to soak everything in and learn whatever I can on the road. I cannot wait to get out there.”
