(Nashville, TN)— Just over a week after the twitter feud began at the ACM’s, controversy continues between country music’s hit maker Justin Moore and Hollywood heavy-weight Ashton Kutcher. Sparks first  ignited when Kutcher appeared at the Academy of Country Music Awards held on April 1, donning over-the-top Western garb while performing a less than stellar rendition of George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart.” Moore took to twitter immediately after the awards to question Kutcher’s motives and claimed that he was making a mockery of the genre. Soon, other country giants chimed in to show their support of Moore, including Miranda Lambert.

Press caught wind of the feud and news of it spread to Us Weekly, People, The Washington Post, and The Tennessean. Moore opened up in an exclusive interview with Fox News where he called Kutcher’s appearance “distasteful” and then went on to invite him out to a show in hopes to patch things up. Moore added, “if he’s as big a country music fan as he says he is, maybe he’ll do that.”

This prompted Ashton Kutcher to respond to Justin Moore via twitter: “I grew up idolizing the style of Highway Men, Hank, Merle, Patsy Cline, Dolly. Starting to wonder if new country just doesn’t get it.  Justin Moore calls it mocking I call it respecting your Elders. Maybe that’s old fashion. Know when to fold em brother…”

While fans and press have swaying opinions on the matter, the country music community has clearly shown their support for Moore. WUBE Cincinnati’s Chris Carr proclaimed: “There are times to bite a tongue, but I’m glad that Justin didn’t.”  Stoney Richards of WDSY Pittsburgh said, “Give Justin my best and tell him we stand by him…God Bless the boys who make the noise…on 16th avenue.”

Official statement from Justin Moore:
“I stand by what I said about Ashton Kutcher’s appearance at the ACM’s.  I don’t know him, he may be a nice guy, but I felt like he insulted a lot of us who live and breathe country music and the lifestyle.  I’d be happy to sit down with him at some point and see just how much he knows about country music, he said he’s a big fan.  It’s just my opinion and everyone’s entitled to one.”
