Jon Pardi always brings the party. The record “Mr. Saturday Night proves this is the case. Pardi has brought love songs and breakup songs to light with the new album. “Mr. Saturday Night” tells the tales of falling in and out of love. He also uses this album as a time for self-reflection. His self-refection can be brought out in the song “Hung The Moon”. Pardi talks about everything he has done wrong in life. The song has a happy ending because the girl of his dreams still loves him, despite all of his flaws. He sheds light on his love life a little more with the song “The Day I Stop Dancin’.” He also touches on country music in this song. There is a line where he talks about Willie Nelson’s famous song “Seven Spanish Angels”. The line is when seven Spanish angels come to carry me home. He says this is the day he will stop dancing with his wife. The influence older country has on newer country music is obvious with this song. Pardi has done a good job at making sure his music still sounds “country” with this new record. Pardi has a track titled “Your Heart or Mine”. This song touches on how long nights at the bar can make two people fall for each other and how unhealthy drunken nights can be. This is a blunt track because no one wants to admit that they fall all over each other when they are drunk. This track puts listeners in a spot where they can let walls down and connect to the song. Overall, the record is something everyone can relate to.
