Interview with Hoyt Hughes

Lamitschka:  How was the last year for you? What were your
highlights?

Hoyt Hughes:  The last year has been
great! I signed with Blue Bolt Records and I have a wonderful team
supporting me with the label, a producer, radio promotions, and a
publicist. The highlight is that the single is climbing the charts
and it’s really a great song.

Lamitschka:  What is your latest CD and how’s it doing?

Hoyt Hughes:  The single,“Happy
Ending,“ is out on serveral radio stations across the country and
we are getting more stations everyday. The Billboard Indicator chart
has it at #56 and it’s #60 on the Music Row Country Breakout chart
this week. (May 23, 2013)

Lamitschka:  Your current single is being played by radio.
What do you feel is special about this song that makes people want to
hear it?

Hoyt Hughes:  This single has a fresh
sound, an upbeat tempo and an awesome story that is solid!!

Lamitschka:  How much creative control do you have over your
music?

Hoyt Hughes:  For the first time I have
a say in every move we make and this is a great feeling to have! They
work with me on song choices and encourage me to start writing again.
I’m asked to be myself as an artist. As an artist this is very rare
to have and I am very thankful.

Lamitschka:  Who inspires you musically and how deep do your
musical roots run?

Hoyt Hughes:  Well, these roots run
deep and wide, seems all of my family has music in their souls and,
as far back as I can remember, I was dancing, singing, playing the
drums, spoons or guitar either on a stage or a front porch. It didn’t
matter to me as long as I was playing!

Lamitschka:  What do you think about today’s music industry?

Hoyt Hughes:  I think it’s awesome.
There is a ton of talent out there and people are getting exposure to
such a variety today. It’s also so much easier to find new music
now with social networking.

Lamitschka:  As an artist, you so many tasks such as
recording, touring, interviews. What do you like best, what’s your
favorite activity?

Hoyt Hughes:  I love it all!! It’s so
great to meet new people and take on new challenges and new songs.

Lamitschka:  What drives you?

Hoyt Hughes:  That next great song and
that next show drive me most of all! I love the feeling you get when
everything falls into place. The fans and are amazing! And, I
appreciate the chance to make someone smile and then getting that
opportunity to do it all over again at the next show.

Lamitschka:  What’s unique about you that will differentiate
you from other artists?

Hoyt Hughes:  Well, I definetly have a
different name! Lol And, I sound like myself, not really anybody
else, so that also helps.

Lamitschka:  Many music fans today get their information
about artists online. Do you have your own website and what will fans

Hoyt Hughes:  I do have a website

construction now.
