Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 8th, 2013)
– With the Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour just a few weeks from its
August 19th kick-off in Prescott, AR, sponsor Fikes Truck Line has
debuted the official Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour truck. Prominently
featuring the Truckload Carriers Association’s (TCA) Highway Angel
spokesperson Lindsay Lawler on the side, the truck will also serve as a
stage throughout the tour, which will feature a live performance by
Lawler at each of the 26 stops.

Established in 1941 by the Fikes
family, Fikes Truck Line has long been one of the leading trucking
logistics companies in the industry. Aside from making the obvious
connections required to properly transport goods, Fikes prides itself in
making interpersonal connections a top priority in their everyday
business transactions.

As a former driver and chairman of TCA,
Fikes President and CEO Gary Salisbury saw an immediate opportunity to
make further connections through the Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour. But Fike’s support doesn’t end with the trucking industry. A long-time supporter of Lawler, her song He Loves The Road was written in honor of his driving career.

pure honesty and passion in life and song sets her apart from other
artists. As a president and CDL carrying driver, I know that truck
drivers can see integrity and honesty (or a lack thereof) from miles
off,” said Salisbury. “It is those connections Lindsay makes with her
audience, especially to the person that drives the trucks and delivers
the loads, that keep America moving.
is the voice to so many unsung heroes out on the road… It is with the
same passion that Fikes has embraced the Highway Angel Truck Stop

didn’t pull me from a burning car, but he’s definitely a Highway Angel
to me and my lifeline to the trucking family,” said Lawler. “Gary has
told me his stories from the life of a driver always ‘on the go’ – which
is what inspired my co-writer Chris Roberts and I to write ‘He Loves
The Road’.” His support and belief in me and my heart for the good
people and families of the trucking industry has helped this project
continue to move forward… For that, I’m eternally grateful!”

an initial stop in Arkansas, the tour will head to Dallas, where Lawler
will perform at the TA in Terrell, Texas on the 20th and the House of
Blues Dallas on the 21st during the Great American Trucking Show. Aside
from an hour long performance by Lawler, each stop will also include a
two-hour radio remote through Renegade Radio Nashville, with whom Lawler
already hosts two radio shows (including On The Road to Nashville,
which is trucking industry-centered). Additionally, stops will boast the
opportunity for sponsorship booths, promoting an interactive,
family-friendly experience for all in attendance. All tour stops are
posted on the tour’s official website,
www.truckstoptour.com, and are subject to change.
