GLEN TEMPLETON INTRODUCES HIS DEBUT SINGLE
“I Could Be The One” Set For May 9, 2011 Release

(CDX Vol. 522 / 4/25/2011 • PlayMpE–4/19/2011)
A tongue-in-cheek sales pitch from a male’s perspective (written by Tom McHugh and Jay Knowles), “I Could Be The One” is the ultimate “pick-up” song. The lyrics profess and confess: “I could be a rock-hard headed fool…hard to handle…I got a river-wide redneck streak…but I could be the one that’s the one for you…the arms…the heart…the one you could fall into…there ain’t no tellin’ what I could be…but I could be the one.” Whether a “too-much-tequila mistake” or a “heart’s big lucky break,” the single lays the cards on the table to explore the “possibilities.” Peppered with rock guitar riffs, banjo pluckin’ and showcasing Templeton’s sexy-drawl vocals, this tune will be “the one” country radio fans request by name.
“The story is about a guy who makes no bones about his imperfections—the flaws most of us guys have,” Templeton introduces. “As a matter of fact, he uses them with confidence to try to convince the gal that he could be ‘the one’ for her. “
The track comes from Templeton’s album entitled GT, his first studio recording (from Grammy award-winning producer/engineer
Mark Lambert who has also worked on projects with Elton John, Willie Nelson, Ronnie Milsap, Trace Adkins and more) which features special guest performances by
Leon Russell, who names Templeton as a contender: “I expect Glen Templeton to be the next major star in country music.”
Glen has been engaged in an aggressive radio promotion tour that will encompass 48 states. In the first leg of the campaign, he’s canvassed 20 states over the past five weeks (accompanied by reps Jamice Jennings and David Shaw) to visit with stations in Oklahoma, Colorado, Florida, Pennsylvania, Missouri and Arkansas including KUBL, WGAR, WIVK, WDSY, KYGO and KBEQ/KFKF.
“We are pleased and overwhelmed with the response,” label head Lance Combs explains. “We are truly encouraged by radio’s excitement.”
“Glen Templeton has got it all, the look, the sound and the song. He ‘could be the one!’ “
