Garth Brooks #1 All Over The World

Garth Brooks #1 All Over The World

by Snehashree Mandal for Country Music News International

Garth Brooks was quite early on music only to switch over to athletics for a few days and regained composure back with music. Garth Brooks is known to be the only star who released nine albums which made it to the top and won him the diamond status in the United States.

Awards too are many in his life, including two Grammys, seventeen American Music Awards, and the RIAA award for being the best-selling artist of the century. Brooks retired between 2001-2005 trying to figure out life while balancing the family front. Meanwhile, he signed a deal with Walmart and during this span sold thousands of albums.

Can you imagine, Garth Brooks sold off 170 million records of his album? With these numbers, he is way ahead of Elvis Presley and is second only to Beatles.

In 2012, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and in 2016 he got into the musicians’ hall of fame along with his studio musicians.

Brooks sang even for Joe Biden’s initiation on January, the 20th of the year 2021. He quoted his performance to be an opportunity to serve and stated his performance to be a statement of unity.

Garth is the youngest child of his family. Both his parents had married twice so Garth had older half-siblings in his family. His elder siblings are instrumental in introducing him to a wide range of music he listened to as a child.

He graduated from Oklahoma State University where he was part of the track and field team starring and winning the javelin throw. He later completed his MBA and participated in the commencement ceremony in 2011.

Brooks was initially married to Sandy Mahl with whom he had three daughters and then went onto marry Trisha Yearwood in 2005 after divorcing Sandy in 2001. Brooks signed with Sony Music Nashville in July 2014.

Brooks received the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for popular songs on 4th March 2020 and he was the youngest artist to receive it.

Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots
And ruined your black-tie affair
The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one
You thought you’d see there
And I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you
Said, honey, we may be through
But you’ll never hear me complain

‘Cause I’ve got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I’ll be okay
I’m not big on social graces
Think I’ll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I’ve got friends in low places

His journey was interspersed with his realizations about new bonds, friendships, family, happiness, and often lased with the struggle to find life through all the living.

Well, I guess I was wrong
I just don’t belong
But then, I’ve been there before
Everything’s all right
I’ll just say goodnight
And I’ll show myself to the door
Hey, I didn’t mean
To cause a big scene
Just give me an hour and then
Well, I’ll be as high
As that ivory tower
That you’re livin’ in

‘Cause I’ve got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I’ll be okay
I’m not big on social graces
Think I’ll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I’ve got friends in low places

If you hear his lines, you would know his journey. World tours, live concerts, and making it big, and riding a huge ship is what he loves doing.

He is riding his ship still and was elated to become a grandfather only recently when August gave birth.

I guess I was wrong
I just don’t belong
But then, I’ve been there before
And everything is alright
I’ll just say goodnight
And I’ll show myself to the door
I didn’t mean to cause a big scene
Just wait ’til I finish this glass
Then sweet little lady
I’ll head back to the bar
And you can kiss my ass

In March 2019, Brooks launched The Stadium Tour, and that has broken all stadium attendance records set so far.

The man seems to be slithering down the road of life at a breakneck speed with no speed breaks to stop him from being the greatest of all country musicians ever.
