NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 4, 2015) – In October, the Nashville Scene unrolled the red carpet on their Best of Nashville 2015 list, naming rising country band, Friends of Lola, one of the Top Three Best Local Bands,
according to a Readers’ Poll. The group, which brings a touch of old-school soul and 70s rock to the ‘new country’ sound, is the only Best Local Band winner in the country music genre. The Nashville Scene’s “Best Of” accolade follows the placement of their single, “Kissed Me Like Thunder” “We try to write good songs that make people feel something,” said the band’s Cyrena Wages. The brother-and-sister duo of Houston and Cyrena Wages from Memphis, American Songwriter magazine has also hailed the band Friends of Lola is managed by Lee Willard and David Williams of Straight 8 Entertainment.
