Nashville, TN (February 22, 2013) – Republic Nashville’s rising country duo Florida Georgia Line is
proving to be a red-hot concert ticket! The newcomers’ upcoming
headlining shows are selling-out in lightening speed – less than one day
– across the country. FGL is one of the fastest-selling acts for Ram’s
Head in Baltimore, MD; Myth in Minneapolis, MN; Georgia Theatre in
Athens, GA; Grizzly Rose in Denver, CO; Washington State University in
Pullman, WA and Granada Theatre in Lawrence, KS. The recognition places
them in a select group of artists such as Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, Motley
Crue, Fall Out Boy, Smashing Pumpkins, who have set venue sales records.
Adding to the good times, the duo’s multi-week #1 debut single “Cruise”
has officially been certified DOUBLE PLATINUM by the RIAA for selling
over 2 million copies.
“We are completely blown away by all
of the support from our fans and Country radio,” says FGL’s Brian Kelley
(Ormond Beach, Florida). “We dreamed about selling one million songs
back when we first started playing together and to have now sold two
million is so surreal.”
FGL’s Tyler Hubbard (Monroe, Georgia)
adds, “We love bringing music and good times to our fans on the road.
Knowing that they are just as excited about the shows as we are is very
cool … we can’t wait to meet each and every one of you at our shows!”
These impressive touring milestones
helped earn them a coveted opening slot on Luke Bryan’s current “DIRT
ROAD DIARIES TOUR” and on last year’s “CMT ON TOUR” with headliner Jake
Owen.
Since releasing “Cruise,” FGL has
exploded on to the country music scene, gaining the attention of fans
and Superstars – Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Jennifer Nettle’s
(Sugarland) and Dierks Bentley – alike. The three-time Academy of
Country Music nominee’s (and winner of the fan-voted New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year)
follow-up single, “Get Your Shine On,” has already sold over 300,000
copies and is ascending up the Country radio charts, already in the Top
20.
As evident on their debut album, HERE’S TO THE GOOD TIMES, the
duo brings a fresh combination of eclectic beats and expressive lyrics
to the genre. Producer Joey Moi (Jake Owen, Nickelback) showcases their
unique sound throughout the Republic Nashville project, which earned the
highest debut album sales of 2012 for a new Country artist.
