Mountain Music Entertainment presents an Evening of Bluegrass at White Horse Black Mountain (NC) on April 16th at 8pm. The evening will feature two headliner acts, Grasstowne and Ralph Stanley II. Grasstowne will be celebrating their new album release for KICKIN UP DUST (Rural Rhythm Records) that evening. The band is comprised of well respected veterans in bluegrass and acoustic music, Alan Bibey and Steve Gulley, who have known and admired each other for over 25 years in their endeavors with bands such as The New Quicksilver, IIIrd Tyme Out, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, BlueRidge and Mountain Heart. Add to the band’s mix three young and very talented players: Adam Haynes on fiddle and vocals, Justin Jenkins on banjo and vocals and Kameron Keller on upright bass and you have one of the hottest and energetic bands touring today. “We are excited to be playing in Western North Carolina at the White Horse. It will be a fun evening of music with Ralph II and Grasstowne. We look forward to being part of the show for the evening and seeing our fans and friends in the area” said Alan Bibey of Grasstowne.
Grammy Award winning Ralph Stanley II, who’s known as “Two” to his friends, spent nearly half his 30 plus years as lead singer and rhythm guitarist for his father’s fabled bluegrass band, Dr. Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys. But like the great vocalist Keith Whitley, who preceded him in that position, Stanley has always had a passion for hardcore country songs, the ones that never wear thin from repeated singing. He is now fronting his own band doing a blend of bluegrass and county style songs old and new. With multiple awards and recognitions under his belt, Ralph II is looking to release his new project later this year. The show at the White Horse will be one of the few times he will visit Western North Carolina in 2011. For more information on Ralph II, please visit RalphStanleyii.com
The show will host both bands to give attendees a great night of bluegrass for the low $18 price of admission. The show is general admission seating. Tickets are available by contacting the White Horse in Black Mountain or learn more by visiting www.mountainmusicentertainment.com closer to the date of the show.
