CRAIG MORGAN’S 5th ANNUAL CHARITY WEEKEND

CRAIG MORGAN’S 5th ANNUAL CHARITY WEEKEND IS A ROUSING SUCCESS

More Than $95,000 Raised For Billy’s Place Over Two-Day Event

Nashville, TN…(August 11, 2011)…Country Music superstar and celebrated Outdoor Channel host Craig Morgan is understandably thrilled with the results of his 5th annual Charity Motocross Ride, Concert and Sporting Clay Shoot.  The two-day’s events and auction raised more than $95,000, which is more than the last two years’ events totals combined.

Proceeds from the weekend’s activities benefit Billy’s Place, which is supporting children’s causes in Middle Tennessee and working toward building a home for temporarily displaced children in Morgan’s hometown of Dickson, just outside Nashville.

“It’s amazing how much this event has grown over the last 5 years and I’m over-the-top grateful to everyone from our celebrity friends and the Dickson and Middle Tennessee communities for their support,” says Morgan.  “We raised a record high amount this year for Billy’s Place and I’m thankful for the opportunity to do more for the children and families of Dickson. I already can’t wait to do it again next year!”

The fan favorite Motocross Ride was a resounding success as riders from across the country gathered for a thrilling wooded trail ride and hill climb. Riders and spectators alike also witnessed celebrity pro riders Fred Andrews, Cowboy Kenny Bartram, Randy Hawkins and Kevin Windham exhibit their gravity defying skills.  Joining Morgan for the day’s adventures were country music celebrities Bucky Covington and Sarah Darling.

New for 2011 was the sold-out celebrity Sporting Clay Shoot where Morgan, Andrews, Bartram, Covington and Hawkins tested their skills in a ten-team sporting clays competition. Later than evening, Craig and country music friends Bucky Covington, Sarah Darling, and Pam Tillis took to the stage and thrilled the crowds with a non-stop parade of hits. During the concert, a live auction took place with auction items ranging from a custom dirt bike, generously donated by Chris Bostick of Carnival Kia, to the chance to shave Craig’s hair on stage!

As Morgan wraps this year’s event and begins planning for next year, he is also excited about his new single “This Ole Boy” which was recently released by Black River Entertainment.  Written by Ben Hayslip, Dallas Davidson, and Rhett Atkins, “This Ole Boy,” the title track and lead single from Craig’s new album, expected early 2012, is the perfect sing-along country love song.  Fans can sing along with their very own copy at iTunes http://bit.ly/ThisOleBoy-iTunes and Amazon http://amzn.to/ThisOleBoy.

Morgan can also be seen in the second season of his Outdoor Channel series, “Craig Morgan All Access Outdoors,” with episodes airing throughout the year.
