GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat is set to unveil her latest single, “If You Love Me Let Me Go,” a poignant duet featuring country sensation Russell Dickerson, on April 4th. The track, available for pre-save now, delves into the familiar, yet painful, cycle of on-again, off-again relationships, capturing the emotional turmoil of a love that can’t quite find its footing.

Written by an impressive team consisting of Caillat, Jamie Scott (One Direction, Ed Sheeran), John Ryan (One Direction, Sabrina Carpenter), and Julian Bunetta (One Direction, Teddy Swims, Thomas Rhett), and brought to life by producers Jimmy Robbins and Eric Arjes, “If You Love Me Let Me Go” is a masterclass in emotional storytelling. The song’s narrative centers around a couple caught in an endless loop of breakups and reconciliations, unable to fully commit to moving forward, either together or apart.

“I’ve experienced this after a breakup,” Colbie Caillat shares, drawing from her own personal experiences to lend authenticity to the track. “Painfully immersed in the cycle of that person coming in and out of your life. If you love each other, then work on it together. But there comes a time when real love also means you know when to let them go.”

To truly capture the duality and complexity of this emotional struggle, Caillat recognized the need for a male perspective. She immediately envisioned Russell Dickerson, a longtime friend and admired artist, as the perfect collaborator. “I’ve been friends with Russell for many years now and I’m also a fan of his music and artistry,” she explains. “I knew this story would be best told through two voices, and he’s perfect for it.”

Russell Dickerson, equally enthusiastic about the collaboration, expresses his admiration for Caillat’s artistry. “First off, I’ve always been a huge fan of Colbie!,” he states. “So, when she asked me to join her on this song, I was honestly blown away. Her music is timeless, and she’s truly the voice of a generation. Being part of something like this is such an honor and a pleasure!”

“If You Love Me Let Me Go” serves as the first glimpse into Colbie Caillat’s upcoming musical endeavors, with more new music slated for release later this year. This single promises to be a powerful and relatable anthem for anyone who has experienced the bittersweet push and pull of a love that lingers.
