Sister Sadie’s first album was good I pretty much expected the same from this
collection and I was not disappointed.

The set kicks off with Losing You Blues and showcases some great harmony singing on
a very bluesy track with some fine fiddle banjo and mandolin work.

No Smoky Mountains is a plaintive track with nice fill work and tender vocal
performances all around. These ladies really know how to sing.

So well in fact it sometimes is easy to forget what fine pickers they are.
That is until you get to a track like Raleigh Ride. The fiddle, banjo and mandolin each
take a “ride” and leave you breathless when they are done.

There are so many influences on this disc. Monroe and The Stanley’s, J D Crowe and
the New South when Keith Whitley was with them and even a nod to the Knoxville
Grass. They breathe new life into great songs by Bobby Bare and Tom T. Hall and make
them their own.

I was going to list some of my favorite tracks but I already included the track list up
above.

Do yourself a favor and pick up Sister Sadie II and get ready cause if II is any indication
III will be even better.
