For fans of all
things Charlie Daniels, his latest studio album, Songs in the Key of E is a
pure pleasure. From the first of the ten track set the Delta style funk comes
through loud and clear and is an exciting journey from track to track. A
smooth, less gritty Daniels greets you with Cajun flair in the opening track ” Geechi Geechi Ya Ya Blues” and as you travel through the
album more traditional Charlie Daniels type songs entertain you such as,
“Smokey’s Got Your Number” and “Mudcat”. Strong guitar licks by Daniels and
Billy Crain are evident throughout the album as well as amazing percussions by
James Stroudon.

Charlie
Daniels at age 81, still performs over 100 shows a year. Gospel, bluegrass,
country and Southern rock anthems are just a few of the many genres of music
that Daniels has parlayed into an amazing career in music. Additionally,
Daniels continues to be a strong advocate for the military, underprivileged
children and others in need.

Though
this album is a bit of a departure for Daniels and you may not find the Devil in Georgia, you will be thoroughly entertained and
discover that Charlie Daniels still has a lot of great music to deliver, no
matter the genre. Get ready to tap your toes and turn this one way up.
Definently 5 out of 5 stars!
