Bobby Marquez Recognized By the Academy of Western Artists

The Academy of Western Artists has release the initial list of
nominations for their annual Will Rogers Awards. And Bobby Marquez is
recognized in several categories. The singer/songwriter proudly accepted
the Pure Country Male honor at the 2018 ceremony.

Marquez remembers,”Everyone kept joking that I was smiling all night long. That was
because top DJs from all over the world vote on these awards. Can you
imagine how much great music they hear daily? That award was a big deal
and I am so grateful.”

This year, Bobby Marquez appears in western music and pure country
categories. He is currently nominated for Western Male, Western Music
Album (“The Cowboy Way”), Western Music Song (“The Cowboy Way”), Pure
Country Male, Pure Country Album (“The Cowboy Way”) and two nominations
for Pure Country Song of the Year (“Honky Tonk” and “For Awhile”).

AWA affiliated disc jockey’s around the world will vote for the
final five nominees in each category. The awards will then be presented
at a special ceremony on March 14, 2019 in the Brown Lupton Ballroom in
Fort Worth, Texas on the campus of Texas Christian University. The
event is open to the public.

Bobby Marquez is the 2018 Academy of Western Artists Pure Country
Male Vocalist and the recipient of the first-ever CMA of Texas
Cowboy/Western Artist Award, as well as a 2018 award from the
organization for Duet of the Year for his recording with Rhonda
Vincent.. His original tune, “The Cowboy Way,” was designated the theme
song of the annual Gene Autry Museum Festival in Oklahoma. Bobby Marquez
was also nominated for a R.O.P.E. award for Songwriter of the Year in
2017. Bobby Marquez appears on television’s The Penny Gilley Show and
Country Fix, while his music videos are seen around the world on various
networks. His music can be heard on radio stations around the globe,
including on Willie’s Roadhouse on Sirius/XM Radio. Marquez’s songs have
been recorded by George Strait, Alan Jackson, Rhonda Vincent, Ty
Herndon and Johnny Rodriguez.
