Ashley Puckett Interview Part 5
by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International
Lamitschka: Many music fans today get their information about artists online. Do you have your own website and what will fans find there?
Puckett: www.AshleyPuckett.com i‘m also really into Facebook so you can find my artist page there Ashley Puckett Music, and on instagram and Twitter as well.
Lamitschka: Tell us about the fan club and how people can join it.
Puckett: It‘s really easy. Right now it‘s and Email list and i also have a fan club address it‘s all on the fan page on my website
Lamitschka: What’s the best compliment a fan has ever given you?
Puckett: i‘ve had a few. The ones that really get me is when i bring someone to tears or they have a memory that a song of mine has brought back and they share that story with me. That is a huge compliment even though some may not think so. That is letting me know that i‘m doing the best job i possibly can as a performer and as a person.
Lamitschka: What’s your favorite song that you wish you could have recorded?
Puckett: hmm. Theres a few. Jo Dee Messina‘s Even God Must Get the Blues or Becasue You Love Me …. or Carol King‘s Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow … or Tin Man from Miranda Lambert. I just love her and her writing and everything about her.
Lamitschka: What message would you like to send your European fans?
Puckett: i‘m thankful for your support and i‘m glad you have taken the time to read this and learn a little about me! I do what i do for me but i do it more for all of you, and i‘m glad you are enjoying my music and i hope somehow it makes a difference in your life to have heard even just one of my songs.
Lamitschka: How do you feel about winning the New Music Weekly number one spot on the AM/FM country chart? What has it done for your career?
Puckett: This was a huge deal for me. It‘s kind of shown fans that i‘m just getting started and there‘s alot of me waiting to shine. It‘s given me alot of recognition i didn‘t have before. And it showed me personally that if i can have something like this happen with just our second single, there‘s alot of hope for me to achieve my goals if i keep going at it.
Lamitschka: You have a new love in your life? Can you tell us something about it?
Puckett: New love? …. haha…. Love in Ashley‘s life is an intersting subject. Just wait for album number two, you‘ll learn alot haha.
Lamitschka: Fans are always hungry for good road stories. Do you have one you can share with us (come on don’t be shy)?
Puckett: haha i‘m better at writing songs than story telling, but there was this one time i was running late for a show, i worked a 12 hour day at my day job and even though i seem to always be on the go, i hate being in a rush, but i‘m really good at being late. I showed up to a packed club walked inside, was angry about soemthing or another on top of that so i took a shot of fireball, grabbed my guitar and hit the stage. That turned out to be one of the best performances i‘ve ever given. I give all the credit to the fireball. To this day if i‘m a little nervouse or anxious i‘ll tend to think back on that day and take a shot of fireball before i hit the stage. I guess you can say that day had a lasting impact on me.
Lamitschka: Describe what a perfect day is like for you.
Puckett: A perfect day for me is sleeping in a little, not having to rush while curling my hair, getting my four shot of espresso white mocha…. Its sunny outside but a little breezy, dress weather. Having some type of fun thing planned, a new adventure, or even something casual and then a good night cap with a drink to talk about the day or just to wind down if i did something like skydiving haha.
Lamitschka: Most careers don’t last as long as yours. What’s given your career the staying power?
Puckett: I think alot of it is just me knowing that i have to just keep going becasue i‘m not where i want to be yet. But i owe alot of this to alot of good people standing beside me, too. Its all of that together.
