Albert Leon Payne’s latest offering is a classic Texas Country album if I ever heard one.

Filled with Pedal Steel and Fiddle it has all the ingredients necessary to make you long for the chance to get out on the dance floor and two step the night away. Chuck Cusimano offers some tasty guitar work on this disc as well as providing Mr. Payne with some great songs to sing.

Heaven’s on the Other Side of Town and When She Does Me Right are both excellent examples of the kind of music that put Texas on the map. While my favorite track Eye to Eye with a Fool cements this album’s 5 star rating. The Other Woman and Farmer’s Daughter are stand alone classics and whoever does them will always be compared to Johnny Bush and Merle Haggard respectively. Here however both song receive the unique treatment of Albert Leon Payne. If you like Texas Country don’t pass up this disc!

Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
