ACADEMY OF WESTERN ARTISTS CANCELS ANNUAL AWARDS SHOW

The Academy of Western Artists (AWA) announced that it will postpone its 24th
annual Will Rogers Awards, scheduled for April 9 at the Brown Lupton
Ballroom on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth,
Texas.

“Due
to the latest federal, state and city guidelines that were recently
issued, the AWA had no choice but to cancel the dinner and show,” said
Bobby Newton, head of the AWA.

The
event usually draws between 350-400 people, according to Newton, who
adds that this is the first time the show has ever been cancelled.

“This is a very difficult time for everyone of us and we hope it is resolved rapidly,” Newton says.

A
new date will be announced as soon as the limits on the number of
people at a gathering are lifted. For information on ticket refunds and
comments regarding rescheduling of the show, direct communication to working_cowboy@hotmail.com.
