Abbey Rowe Interview by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show
Lamitschka: Music has many new fans throughout Europe who
may be hearing about you for the first time. How would you describe yourself
and the music you play to someone who has never seen or heard you?
Answer: I’m the type of artist that just wants to be
genuine all of the time! That being said my music is fun, energetic, and
sometime comical but, I also am not afraid to tap into my emotions and give
listeners a raw and real lyric.
Lamitschka: How was the last year for you? What were your
highlights?
Answer: I had a great year last year! Releasing new music,
finding myself as an artist, opening up for Sara Evans and connecting with
audiences all over the world have all been highlights of my past year!
Lamitschka: What is your latest CD and how’s it doing?
Answer: My latest release is a self titled EP and it’s
been doing awesome! I love getting feedback on how people are connecting with
the music and what songs are their favorites.
Lamitschka: How did you choose the title for the CD?
Is there a story behind the name?
Answer: I couldn’t choose a title so I just used my
name!
Lamitschka: Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how
do you go about finding the songs for your CD?
Answer: I do! I have an awesome group of writers that I
love co-writing with.
Lamitschka: Please tell us about the songs on your album
(influences, etc).
Answer: I always tell people that if Shania Twain and
Brad Paisley has a musical baby it would be my sound and music! Haha! So you
will here those types of influences throughout my EP.
Lamitschka: What kind of songs do you like to record the
most?
Answer: Funny songs! It’s so much fun to record them,
half the time I can’t stop laughing!
Lamitschka: What is your favorite song among all the songs
you have recorded and what’s the story behind it?
Answer: I’d have to say the acoustic track on my EP Bridges.
This song came out of a time of a lot of change in my life and realizing that
you have to appreciate every step you take in life whether good or bad, those
“Bridges” help shape who you are. My Co writers Melissa Bollea and Bill DiLuigi
really helped me bring this song to life.
Lamitschka: How much creative control do you have over
your music?
Answer: All of it! I like to have the final say in my
music and the direction it’s taking. I like to be authentic as an artist so
creative control helps me stay genuine.
Lamitschka: Do you have any interesting stories about how
fans have been affected by your music?
Answer: One time after a writers round, I had a young
girl approach me sayig that Bridges really spoke to her and the season she’s
walking through in life. Those connections to people are why I love what I do!
Lamitschka: Who inspires you musically and how deep do
your musical roots run?
Answer: Shania Twain, The Dixie Chicks, Brad Paisley,
The Eagles, all kinds of artists! I grew up listening to the Dixie Chicks on my
moms first generation iPod and that sound, lyrically and melodically, has stuck
with me.

versus its post and where do you see it going in the future?
