Nashville, TN (February 13, 2013) – Singer/songwriter Will Hoge scored his first ACM nomination in the Song of the Year
category for penning “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” performed by the
Eli Young Band, as announced earlier today by the Academy of Country
Music. Co-written with Eric Paslay, “Even If It Break Your Heart,” has
garnered an enormous amount of buzz at Country radio, earning Hoge a
Grammy nomination for the 2013 Country Song of the Year and a CMA nomination for the 2012 Song of the Year. The ACM award show will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7 on CBS at 8:00 PM ET / PT.
“Earlier this year I had the amazing
opportunity to participate in the ACM Honors event at the Ryman in
Nashville, alongside some of my greatest musical influences,” shares
Will Hoge. “Now to receive this nomination and know that I’ll get to
spend even more time in Vegas with fans, friends, Country radio and the
awesome ACM team, I’m truly honored.”
Featured on Hoge’s critically acclaimed 2009 release The Wreckage,
“Even If It Breaks Your Heart” was written during one of the most
challenging times in Hoge’s life – following a near fatal traffic
accident in 2008. Hoge spent nine months recuperating at home and
writing. “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” was the albums lead single at
Americana and AAA radio (staying in some station playlists for almost
six months). The song also caught the ear of the Eli Young Band whose
recording of it ascended to the top of the country charts. While raising
Hoge’s profile as a hit songwriter, the song also introduced his music
and records to the Country music audience; a decade removed from major
label release on Atlantic Records, Carousel.
Currently, Hoge is back in the studio and working on his soon-to-be released 9th studio record.
Since his first independent record in
2000, Hoge has crisscrossed North America playing as many as 221 shows
in one year. His stage shows are equal ingredients of sweat, charisma
and rock & roll revival which have landed him coveted opening slots
with Dierks Bentley, John Mellencamp, Pistol Annies, Shinedown,
Sugarland and ZZ Top.
