Whirlwind Summer Ends with Top Honor for Scott Southworth

After a busy summer touring all over the U.S. and Europe,
singer/songwriter Scott Southworth was welcomed home to Nashville with
news of a top honor from his hometown in Oregon.

The Springfield High Hall of Fame will formally recognize Scott Southworth for his

outstanding achievements the first weekend of October 2018. The
weekend will include an introduction at the football game at Silke
Stadium Friday night, October 5th, followed by the awards dinner on
Saturday, October 6th at 6:00pm at the Springfield

High cafeteria, introduced by former classmate and current Choir Director at Springfield High School, Stacy Swartout-McKee.

Southworth shares, “This is probably one of the most meaningful
honors I can ever imagine receiving. So much of my musical awakening
happened while I was a student at SHS. From concert chorale, jazz choir,
barbershop quartets, musical theater, my first “air guitar”
competition, the first girl I ever attempted to play guitar for (it went
horribly, ha!), the first time I was in a recording studio…it all
happened during my years at Springfield High School! My first band was
in Springfield and consisted of former classmates. When I decided to
quit my job and move the family to Nashville to chase a crazy dream, the
first time I announced it to anyone was at my 20 year HS reunion and
those classmates have been so incredibly supportive of the journey I’ve
been on. I am a Proud Springfield “Miller” and to be recognized in my
home town, by these people who have always meant so much to me is truly a
dream come true!”

Scott Southworth’s latest release, “Hey Hillbilly Singer!” is in
it’s second consecutive month in the Top 10 of the AirPlay Direct
Global Radio Indicator Country/Alt Charts, even holding the #1 spot for
the first week of August!

In the meantime, the month of September is dedicated to catching
up on co-writing and recording in Music City. “Always have new ideas to
kick around and new tunes that need recording…I love being in
Nashville working with the best of the best!!” states Southworth.
