Last night, musician Wayne Appleby was inducted into the 2012
Australian Steel Guitar Hall of Fame.

The thirteenth recipient of the impressive honour Wayne
Appleby’s lengthy career spanning some forty years is duly captured on
the plaque which was presented last night in Brisbane. He is the first
Tasmanian pedal steel player to receive recognition by the steel guitar
fraternity in Australia.

The Australian Steel Guitar Hall of Fame names worthy
recipients each year during the Brisbane Steel Guitar’s Annual
Festival, this year held at a new venue, the Newman’s Room,
Geebung-Zillmere RSL Club in Brisbane, Queensland. Many of the
inductees have long and reputable careers shaping history and biographies on
