Golden Globe nominee Steven Bauer, well known for his role as Manny Ribera in the iconic 1983 Miami drug film “Scarface”, has always been a musician at heart. But a number of roles followed since then such as the leading role in “Thief Of Hearts” as well as actions films like “Primal Fear” with Richard Gere, “Traffic” with Michael Douglas and “Snapdragon” with beauty Pamela Anderson just to name a few. Therefore he made acting his primary career.
But now Steven has finally decided to make his musical dream come true.
Together with his long time friend and platinum selling songwriter/musician Glenn Goss as well as with guitar player Billy G and drummer Chico Brown, he started Underground Junction.
The band consists of “real” professional players with years of gigging experience.
Chico Brown lays down the sweetest beats on a totally new and unique acoustic drum set that features a 3-piece conga set-up with kick drums. Chico has gathered his experience and passion from various musicians and bands over the years like Wesley B. Wright, The Miami Sound Machine and No Regrets.
Billy G brings his own unique rhythm style of acoustic guitar playing. He has been seen playing all over the city of Chicago. The last few years he has been playing in South Florida where he hooked up with Steven and Glenn.
Glenn Goss is truly a pro. He plays anything and everything with strings. He has been seen on The David Letterman show playing with Joan Osborne and the Hooters, has done “The Bottom Line” with Cindy Lauper, has played with Matt Sorum & Gilby Clark from Guns & Roses. Goss also co-wrote several songs with Carlos Santana, Keith Mack, Billy Idol and The Hooters founder Eric Bazilian, who also wrote the Grammy nominated song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne.
Two songs Glenn wrote with his friends ended up on this CD. “Bitter Pill”, which was co-written by Billy Idol and Eric Bazilian and “My Time In Hell”, co-written by Steven and Keith Mack, known for his work with “Patty Smyth and Scandal”, Paul Young and Joe Cocker.
The song “Crumble and Fall” is going to be in the end credits in Steven’s movie “The Last Gamble” which already received awards at several film festivals.
Combine the band’s musicality with Steven’s creativity and passion, and you get a sound like no other. Responsible for this unique sound is Glenn himself together with multi-platinum award producer Andrew Lane. Lane has received gold and platinum accreditations for Disney’s ‘High School Musical’ (US No.1) and ‘Hannah Montana’ (US No.1) soundtracks that reached the top of the Billboard 200 for which he won the Billboard soundtrack “Album of The Year” award and an American Music Award.
Underground Junction’s unique blend of Rock, Folk and Latin influences transpires into a truly organic sound that crosses over to many genres of music on the market today.
