Tyler Williams Interview

Tyler Williams Interview by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show

1. Lamitschka:  What
do you think about today’s music industry?

I don’t worry as much about what is looks like
today versus yesterday. I try to focus on what opportunity is available to me
today as an artist to get my music in front of people. And fortunately there
are more ways than ever. Sure, there are challenges with fewer albums being
sold and more people streaming, but again it’s still comes down to the
opportunity in front of us.

I hear people complain about so and so not being on the radio and my
perspective has always been at least we are fortunate that the costs of
recording has gone down drastically. That people can make music in their house
and share it online where you are able to consume it for free if you
choose.

I am nostalgic. I’d love to see more artist going diamond and selling 10
million records and everyone involved in the project seeing the benefits. But,
I know the market is going to move. And I want to make myself available to pivot
when needed.

I choose to look for the opportunities in
front of me today.

2. Lamitschka:
What’s unique about you that will differentiate you from other artists?

In addition to my music,
I am a published author and I drive race cars.

 3. Lamitschka:
Who is your biggest critic, yourself or others?

I am definetiely harder
on myself than anyone else. I don’t pay much attention to outside noise. I want
people to like me and what I am doing, but I don’t let it influence the work. I
have to stay true to myself and what I feel is right for me.

4. Lamitschka:  When
you get time off, how do you like to relax?

I like to keep it simple.
Spend time at home reading or maybe go on a netflix binge. If I am not at home,
but have some time, I like to be present and enjoy the scenery around me. Could
be the moutains, the beach or even flat lands. Finding beauty in the world
around me is important.

5. Lamitschka:  Is
there anything in your life that you would change if you could?

It might be easy to say
yes I would change this or that, but each of those moments make us who we are
and even a small change could have major implications for our lives. So, I
wouldnt change a thing.

6. Lamitschka:  What
hopes and desires do you have?

I am a dreamer by nature.
I have no problem thinking big. I’d love to sing country music and drive race
cars at the highest levels possible. As far as I know, no one has really done
that since Marty Robbins.

7. Lamitschka:  Is
there any place you haven’t played that you would like to?

The Grand Ole Opry

8. Lamitschka:
Describe what a perfect day is like for you.

There isn’t any one thing
I have to do or experience to make a day perfect. But, what can make a day
perfect is if I go to sleep that night feeling like I was inspired. It could be
a great conversation that inspired me. It could be that I had a chance to
explore a new city for the first time. Exploration of people and places is an
easy recipe for a perfect day.

9. Lamitschka:  Many
music fans today get their information about artists online. Do you have your
own website and what will fans find there?

tylerwilliamslive.com is my website and fans will be able
to learn more about me, my music and the racing that I do. I know Europe is
more into touring cars and F1, but true motorsports fans love anything that
goes fast so I think they’d find the circle track racing I do interesting.

You can find me on
twitter and instagram @twilliamslive and Facebook atfacebook.com/tylerwilliamslive

10. Lamitschka:
What message would you like to send your European fans?

I just have to say thanks
for checking out my music and I can’t wait to spend some time with you. I’ve
traveled  to the UK, Spain, France and Italy seeking out adventures, but I
really hope to bring my music to Europe in a live setting soon. I want to play
shows and get to know more of Europe.
