Kentucky-raised artist and viral streamer Tyler Booth is once again gracing the country music scene with his latest single, “Sunshine.” This newest offering exudes a captivating warmth and sincerity, a testament to Booth’s ability to infuse genuine emotion into his music. The uplifting tune gently unfolds with a tender guitar riff, drawing a beautiful comparison between his beloved and the radiant embrace of sunshine. Lines like “I kept wondering when you’d show, I lost faith a time or two” give way to the ultimately comforting realization that “you’re warming up my soul,” capturing the profound impact of finding a guiding light.
“Booth brings authenticity to the genre in a way few others can,” notes Fandom Daily, and “Sunshine,” penned solely by Booth himself, perfectly embodies this sentiment. It’s a delicately delivered track that offers a sense of hope and clarity, akin to discovering light at the end of a long tunnel.
“Sunshine” marks Booth’s second release of 2025, following his earlier track, “Talkin’ White Trash.” That song, as Country Evolution observed, “sets the tone for a collection that leans into Booth’s signature mix of traditional country, bluegrass, and Southern rock.” Listeners can anticipate more of this compelling blend on his upcoming EP, Downtown, slated for release in June. The official video for “Talkin’ White Trash” was a vivid reflection of Booth’s own small-town upbringing, playfully navigating the stark contrasts between the simplicity of backwoods life and the allure of wealthy excess.
Hailing from Campton, Kentucky, Tyler Booth has always allowed his music to be guided by his Appalachian roots. Drawing deep inspiration from his rural upbringing and the storytelling traditions of artists like Jamey Johnson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard, alongside local legends such as Keith Whitley, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Tyler Childers, Booth has cultivated a distinct “rootsy, back porch pickin’ sound.” His warm baritone vocals have garnered a dedicated following, boasting well over a million collective social media fans and accumulating over 100 million streams of his music.
The forthcoming Downtown EP, set to drop in June, kicks off with the classic country flavor of “Talkin’ White Trash.” Booth, who has shared stages with esteemed acts including Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, Brooks & Dunn, Dwight Yoakum, and Jamey Johnson himself, views this project as a return to his core. “I wanted to bring it back a bit more grassroots. Bring it back a bit more to where I began,” Booth explains of his approach to the new EP. “There’s not a ton of production on this project – two songs are just me and a guitar. There’s some bluegrass, there’s mandolin, flat pickin’. I wanted to bring a bluegrass element, some blues, and a bit of rock.” This emphasis on raw, authentic instrumentation and a diverse sonic palette promises a deeply personal and engaging collection of songs.
With “Sunshine,” Tyler Booth continues to showcase his evolving artistry, offering a tender and introspective side while still holding true to the authentic, genre-melding sound that has captivated his ever-growing fanbase. As the June release of Downtown approaches, anticipation builds for what promises to be a compelling and deeply rooted musical statement from this genuine voice in country music.
