TOBY KEITH BRAVES MINNESOTA DOWNPOUR
TO HEADLINE WINSTOCK MUSIC FESTIVAL
Saturday’s
tour stop at the Winstock Music Festival in Winsted, Minnesota was
anything but the usual for singer-songwriter, entertainer Toby Keith. A
storm stretching from the Texas Panhandle to the Great Lakes with
unrelenting rain, 20-30 mph winds, and lightning hit hard and made it nearly impossible
for Keith to go on stage. Threatening as it was, Toby Keith delayed the
start of his set and went on to perform in the rain with the fans that
packed festival grounds, who all stayed until the last note.

“We found a window of time where lightning was at a safe distance and we went on,” tour manager David Milam noted.
The
rain continued throughout the show, causing some equipment damage
including the loss of video projectors and HD cameras. They were also
unable to do some of the pyro/flames due to the winds. A few early acts
were unable to perform because of lightning in the area.
