Thom Artway Interview by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show

Lamitschka:  Music has many
new fans throughout Europe who may be hearing about you for the first time. How
would you describe yourself and the music you play to someone who has never
seen or heard you?

A young man (that’s what I say) armed with a guitar,distinctive voice (that’s what
people say) and backpack full of stories.

Lamitschka:  How did you
choose the title for the CD?  Is there a story behind the name?

On the CD, there is alsoasongcalled “All I Know”, which is one of the most important songs I’ve ever written, so that would be the
reason for the name.

Lamitschka:  Please tell us
about the songs on your album (influences, etc).

There are 11 songs. Some are happy, somearenot. You can find some influencesin theelectronic music which
means that I listenedtosome electronic music recently.

Lamitschka:  What is the
difference between your last CD and your current one?

This one is definitely more upbeat and more colourful
than my debut album.

Lamitschka:  What kind of
songs do you like to record the most?

Sad and mellow songs are always easier to compose and arrange for me.

Lamitschka:  As an artist,
you
doso many tasks such as
recording, touring, interviews. What do you like best, what’s your favourite
activity?

Hard to say. Touring probably. But wait, you forgot something! Writing and
composing! If there are no songs, you can’t tour!

Lamitschka:  Who is your
biggest critic, yourself or others?

Depends. I found objective criticismvery important. If there are no
peopleof that
kind,you
can’t go forward.

When I hearasong from the album after a while I always say that I would change
something – but in that particular time I did my best and that is important!

Lamitschka:  When you get
time off, how do you like to relax?

I love reading books, travellingand spending time with my girl.

Lamitschka:  Is there any
place you haven’t played that you would like to?

Royal Albert Hall. I havenever been there but when I seeavideo of bandplaying there I always wish I was
there.

Lamitschka:  What can your
fans expect to see when they see you in concert?

Intimacy but also fun and hopefullyagood music!

Lamitschka:  What’s your
favorite song that you wish you could have recorded?

Definitely Fix You by Coldplay!
