The Spinney Brothers Wrap Up 2012 With Multiple Road Dates

The Spinney Brothers Wrap Up 2012 With Multiple Road Dates
Performances to include WAMU’s Bluegrass Country and Song of the Mountains TV Show, Brother Duo Makes The Most of IBMA’s World of Bluegrass, Memories Continues To Chart
October 31, 2012 (Nova Scotia, Canada)—The Spinney Brothers,
“Canada’s International Bluegrass Band,” are celebrating a tremendous
year of success with a jam-packed touring schedule that wraps up in
December with multiple dates over the next two months. The band recently
spent a successful week in Nashville, Tennessee bringing the “I” to the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) World of Bluegrass conference where they performed to enthusiastic crowds in support of their latest Mountain Fever Records CD, Memories, a project that continues to stake its claim on bluegrass music charts.
The
Spinney Brothers will never be accused of sitting still too long as
2012 has found the band moving regularly between their home country of
Canada and the US, with a touring schedule of over 120 dates. The band
is ready to hit the road again after a short 2-week hiatus and will wrap
up the last string of dates this year with shows in both countries.
They’ll begin in the US with shows in Ohio, D.C. and Virginia, including
a live performance on WAMU’s Bluegrass Country, a Song of The Mountains
TV taping for PBS and the Southern Ohio Indoor Music Festival. The end
of the tour finds them a little closer to home with dates in New
Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Ontario, Canada.
If
you ask Rick and Allan Spinney what they consider to be among the
highlights of 2012, they would list their time in Nashville, TN during
the IBMA World of Bluegrass
conference in September very near the top. The band spent their time
wisely during the business conference, making the most of every waking
minute by meeting with business colleagues, searching for new material
for their next CD and performing at every opportunity. In addition to
showcases at Nashville hot-spots such the Ernest Tubb Record Shop and Puckett’s, the band spent plenty of their time at the Nashville Convention Center performing for WAMU, Good Home Grown Music and also giving of their time to a performance at Fan Fest
on Friday night, bringing an enthusiastic crowd to their feet by the
show’s end and commanding an encore performance. “The IBMA business
conference is such an important facet of bluegrass music,” stated Gary
Dalrymple, band manager and mandolinist for The Spinney Brothers. “It
gives us such a unique opportunity to meet so many promoters, disc
jockeys and business associates face to face. We came away from the
conference feeling that is was one of the most successful ventures our
band has been involved with and we look forward to visiting the
conference next year as it moves to Raleigh.”
As
if a successful touring schedule wasn’t enough to celebrate, The
Spinney Brothers have also been delighted with the success of Memories, their latest CD and debut project on Mountain Fever RecordsMemories has been a regular staple on multiple bluegrass charts since it’s release in March and was #7 on Bluegrass Unlimited’s Top 15 Albums this month and has also been a mainstay on Bluegrass Junction’s Most Played Albums for SiriusXM. “Memories
has been so well received by radio programmers and fans,” stated Mark
Hodges of Mountain Fever Records. “The Spinney Brothers have worked
tirelessly, touring in support of this record, and it’s really paid off.
Plans for their next CD are already in place and if things go as expected, we’ll be sending a brand new Spinney Brothers release to radio in 2013.”
