At a time when the world couldn’t feel more out of control AVENUE BEAT offers a pressure valve with their latest offering, “thank you anxiety”
(The Valory Music Co./Tape Room Records). Available everywhere today,
the genzennial collective of Sami Bearden, Savana Santos and Sam Backoff
blithely name-check all the ways social awkwardness makes life patently
awful as the chorus sounds off: Thank you anxiety / For making me
scared of everything / For unnecessarily over thinking what I’m thinking
/ Everytime I think about something that I don’t wanna think about.
The trio co-penned the track with frequent collaborator Summer
Overstreet last year, while lead singer Savana serves as co-producer
alongside David Garcia and Ashley Gorley. Watch the visceral lyric video
“Anxiety can be scary and difficult to be upfront and honest about.
It’s something that we deal with and have had to learn how to work
through. One thing that has really helped, is knowing that other people
are experiencing the same feelings. Our hope with sharing ‘thank you
anxiety’ is that it makes everyone feel a little less alone, especially
during these crazy times,” shared Avenue Beat
Beckoning listeners with pillows of narcotic harmony, glistening melody
and lyrical truths, “thank you anxiety” follows the Quincy,
Illinois-born trio’s debut self-titled EP featuring the hilarious self-empowering “Delight,” sisters-sticking-together “Be A Bro” and the self-induced euphoria of “Broke“ as well as their angst-rejecting anthem “Ruin That For Me,” which has already garnered nearly 9 million streams and is currently ascending at Country radio.
Avenue Beat may look like your average 20-somethings, but underneath the
baggy clothes and wicked side-eye, the trio is a pack of theater nerd
songwriter/programmers sent to distill their angst of their generation
with a wink and a nudge. Named an “Artist to Watch” by Sounds Like Nashville, Taste of Country, The Boot, NYCountry Swag and more, they were also selected as a MusicRow 2020 “Next Big Thing,” Music Choice “Country Rising 20” and CMT ‘Listen
Up’ 2020 Artist, in addition to being inducted into CMT’s Next Women of
Country Class of 2020. Following back-to-back runs in 2019 with Mason
Ramsey, Avenue Beat joins Rascal Flatts on the road later this year for
the FAREWELL: LIFE IS A HIGHWAY TOUR. For the latest updates and more,
