Taylor Austin Dye is a trailblazer for the women of country music. She is a small town Kentucky native from Booneville, a town with a population of 157.

She took to TikTok during COVID when shows were a dime a dozen. Social media helped launch her career.” Rest in Peace” has taken TikTok by storm. “Rest in Peace” now has over 2 million views on YouTube as well as over 3 million streams on Spotify.

This song is featured on her most recent album “Out of These Hills”. “Rest in Peace “brings a tough subject to life as it revolves around victimized woman and her 35 year old alcoholic abusive significant other. After dealing with physical abuse and having enough of it, she decided to call her friend and she finishes the rest.

“Rest in peace” is the modern day “Goodbye Earl”.

Taylor tugs on your heartstrings with her song “The Green Truck”, as it’s a song that shines light on grief. It perfectly sums up loss and devoice from the eyes of a kid. She sings about how it made her feel when she would see her dad pull up with his truck to pick her up. She also talks about the heart wrenching loss of her father in the song. There is a lyric in the song that says “the day before I turned 25 they called and said my daddy died”. She kept the truck and used this song as a way to reflect on memories of her mom and dad together.

Taylor did some amazing things with this album. She brought tough subjects to light in a positive way that everyone can relate to. “Out of These Hills” is an album that embodies what country music really is.
