Sydney Country Music Festival Brings Thousands To Bella Vista Farm

More
than 6500 visitors from across Australia flocked to Bella Vista Farm
Park on Saturday for the 2014 Sydney Country Music Festival.
Revellers
filtered onto the historic farm park from midday on a glorious Sydney
spring afternoon that provided the perfect conditions for country fans.

Fans
were treated to performances by a sizzling line-up of artists including
McAlister Kemp, The McClymonts, Beccy Cole, Wagons, Chelsea Basham, The
Viper Creek
Band, Ashleigh Dallas, Luke O’Shea and the finalists of the Silver
Saddles talent search.
Also
on offer was line dancing, whip cracking, The Hills Shire Music
School’s ‘Jam Barn’ with country band ‘The Plough’, the Beaut Utes Show,
country kids’ activities
and more.

“The
Sydney Country Music Festival has now grown from a few hundred
attendees in the first year to more than 6500 in 2014. We are expecting
it to grow even further
in 2015,” Mayor Jefferies said.
“We’ve
already locked in significant headliners for next year, with Adam Brand
and The Wolfe Brothers confirmed to play and the event scheduled to go
for two
days.”

Over
the course of his career, Adam Brand has earned three Platinum and five
Gold albums. He has been nominated four times for the ARIA
Best Country Album award and is the winner of 12 Golden Guitar Awards at the Country Music Awards of Australia, including multiple wins in the
Song of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year categories.
The
Wolfe Brothers captured the attention of the nation when they were
voted into second place in the final of Australia’s Got Talent in 2012.
The Wolfe
Brothers consists of two brothers, Nick and Tom Wolfe, and, guitarist
Brodie Rainbird and drummer Casey Kostiuk and describe their work as
‘modern country’.
Mayor
Jefferies said that Bella Vista Farm Park is a proven major event
facility, and feedback from fans has been overwhelmingly positive about
hosting a country
music festival in Sydney.

“The
Sydney Country Music Festival was a great success and I want to thank
Council staff, Catapult Creative, Power Creative and all the event
sponsors for making
Saturday such a wonderful occasion.”

“Not
only did the event showcase some fantastic Australian country talent in
the form of McAlister Kemp, The McClymonts and Beccy Cole to name a few
– but it
also helped to unearth some very talented young artists via the Silver
Saddle Competition.”

“This
facility has the capacity and available parking to host all types
of major events and I look forward to seeing it draw even more visitors
to the Sydney
Hills in the coming months and years.”
