NEWCOMER SUSAN CATTANEO MAKES COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR DEBUT
TO INTRODUCE NEW SINGLE “LITTLE BIG SKY” FROM JERSEY GIRL MUSIC
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 8, 2012)–Following the welcoming response, recognition and momentum of her debut single “Girls Night Out,” Susan Cattaneo will head to Nashville later this month to promote her latest release, “Little Big Sky” (at radio January 9, 2012/Jersey Girl Music), at Country Radio Seminar. Co-written with former Warner staff writer Scarlet Keys, “Little Big Sky” is a fun, rocking, upbeat tune that celebrates leaving the big city behind to embrace a simpler way of life in the wide-open spaces of the countryside.
Motivated by the overwhelming response from country radio programmers, DJs and fans during a radio tour promoting her debut single “Girls Night Out,” Cattaneo was urged to release “Little Big Sky” as her second single. During her radio visits, she played an acoustic version of “Little Big Sky;” every performance met with grand applause that could not be ignored.
“A few years ago, I was working in New York City. One night, I remember seeing the moon peeking through the skyscrapers; as I took a closer look, I realized it wasn’t the moon, but a streetlight. I thought, ‘It’s time for me to get out of this city!’ I wrote the song with the intent to capture that moment and sentiment,” Cattaneo introduced. “My friend and co-writer, Scarlet, had just returned from a visit with family in Oklahoma. She told me about the landscape and her father always said ‘it’s a place where you can see miles and miles and nothing but miles.’ That’s when the two life experiences literally became one in song.”
Susan’s last recording project, HEAVEN TO HEARTACHE, won the vibrant entertainer national attention and international acclaim. She performed at Buscadero Day (Italy’s number roots rock festival) headlined by Son Volt and Dave Alvin & the Guilty Women, and she landed at No. 5 on the European Country Music Association radio chart. A cut (“Watching The Sparks Fly”) from HEAVEN TO HEARTACHE was featured on CMT.com and Ms. Cattaneo is a New Music Weekly nominee for “Best New Artist of the Year.”Currently available on iTunes (and all other major online outlets), “Little Big Sky” is the title cut from Susan’s forthcoming EP; it is scheduled to be released in mid-spring. Produced by Lorne Entress (Lori McKenna) and Jan Stolpe, LITTLE BIG SKY showcases some of Nashville’s “A-list” players including Glen Duncan (Emmylou Harris/Kenny Chesney/Faith Hill), Kevin Grantt (Brad Paisley/Darryl Worley/Dolly Parton) and Jim “Moose” Brown (Darius Rucker/Josh Turner/Jamey Johnson).Heading up the radio campaign is a group of renowned and widely recognized country music promotion reps: Jerry Duncan, Lisa Smoot, Alan Young, Jack Pride and Jay Thomas.
