THE SECRET SISTERS: LIVE IN CONCERT SPECIAL TO AIR ON GREAT AMERICAN COUNTRY (GAC)
Showcase presented by T Bone Burnett features collaborations with Elvis Costello and Jakob Dylan
Nashville, Tenn. — (Friday, March 25, 2011) — In 2009, The Secret Sisters captivated esteemed producer, T Bone Burnett, with their flawless harmonies and classic country nostalgia. He took on the task of executive producing their critically-acclaimed debut album and subsequently launched Beladroit Records (imprint of Universal Republic) to help it be heard around the world. Yet, one of the most remarkable experiences the duo credits to him was his invitation to share the stage with Elvis Costello and Jakob Dylan as part of a special showcase. On March 26 and 27, viewers can tune in to watch the celebrated concert as part of a special on Great American Country (GAC), The Secret Sisters: Live in Concert on GAC (presented by T Bone Burnett). “Sharing the stage with Elvis and Jakob was such an honor,” said the duo’s Laura Rogers. “We were still so new to performing, but having them there made us feel so at ease…not to mention the thrill of getting to sing with them.”
Lydia Rogers added, “Our sincere thanks go out to T Bone–not only has he helped us grow musically, but he has also provided us with loads of advice about how to maintain our artistic integrity in a world that is pulling us in a million different directions. We’re humbled and privileged to call him a friend.”
Viewers are invited to tune in to see Laura and Lydia Rogers (The Secret Sisters), Costello and Dylan recreate classic country music with their own originals as well as a few covers from their favorite artists like Hank Williams, Buck Owens, Bill Monroe and Johnny Cash.
