Single Review: Ron Christopher – It’s All About The Song
By Dena Wood for Country Music News International Magazine
July 27th , 2023 I was introduced to a song written by Ron Christopher and Mag Mawhinney entitled “All About The Song” I was immediately drawn deep within the message and as I listened to the entire sequence of music, lyrics, background vocals, etc…. it was clear to me that this was indeed a special work done by an equally special artist.
Ron has been the recipient of many awards over his years in the music industry and I initially met him at The Academy of Western Artists Awards show in Fort Worth, Texas during his performance of an award winning song he had written and released which won Song of The Year, titled “Line In The Sand” and at the presentation of the last note, the audience stood to their feet and gave him a huge ovation.
Ron has amazing musical abilities in musicianship, writing, singing and in my opinion is the entire ensemble all wrapped up in one individual. His storytelling is spot on and his depiction of the change in the era of Country Music reached a level of greatness that rarely gets told and understood by everyone. In this case I believe I have witnessed and heard the making of a great happening in Ron’s career. This is, in my opinion, one of the greatest
songs I’ve distributed in a very long time.
The story of all the greats who have gone on before us and passed into time, leaving one old outlaw on the stage, is truth as it is told, Willie Nelson is again touring across the Country with vigor of days gone by, and it’s an ode to those gone on who’ve paved the way for many. I am looking for the resurgence of Country as we knew it through the decades.
Ron Christopher. Remember that name. This just might be his best one yet.
