MUSIC ICON RICKY SKAGGS NOMINATED
FOR IBMA AWARD
Skaggs Along with Band Kentucky Thunder Nominated in the
“Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year” Category
Nashville, Tenn. (August 19, 2013) – The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) finalists were announced last week with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder securing a nomination in the “Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year” category for “New Jerusalem.” The song is a brand new instrumental from the 2012 album Music To My Ears by Skaggs, who also wrote the tune.
“I am very grateful for the nomination,” says Skaggs upon learning of the IBMA Award nod.

On August 13, Skaggs released his first autobiography, “KENTUCKY TRAVELER,”
which details the life and times of the music icon and also the history
of Bluegrass music. In addition, Skaggs has again teamed with music
legend BRUCE HORNSBY, this time for a live album titled, CLUCK OL’ HEN. The album is scheduled for release tomorrow (August 20).
