Keyboardist/vocalist Rachel Solomon celebrates release of debut CD,
Love Ourselves
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 21, 2013) –
Nashville-based keyboardist, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Solomon is set to celebrate her debut CD, Love Ourselves, a collection of music the musician calls “a personal exposition of love,  loss,
longing and personal and spiritual growth,” while also referring to the
CD as “a little bit Beatles, a little bit Billy Joel, a little bit
Carole King, and little bit Bonnie Raitt, and, of course, 100 percent
Rachel Solomon.”
The public is invited to attend the CD’s official release party at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at 12th and Porter.
The new CD already is garnering accolades.

The CD Release Party for Love Ourselves
is set for April 10 at 12th and Porter.
“Rachel delves into the
musical waters of love with an honesty and authenticity rarely heard in
today’s pop,” says Dave Carew, editor of Underground Nashville, of the seven-song CD. “The result is one of the finest debut albums in recent memory.”
Though Love Ourselves is Solomon’s debut album, the project is far from being the musician’s first foray into music.
Her musical pedigree
originates with her father, Andy Solomon, keyboard player for Ted
Nugent’s early psychedelic endeavor The Amboy Dukes, passing along both
keyboard and saxophone skills to his daughter. The young musician spent
her teenage years winning classical piano competitions in her home state
of Texas, sitting 1st chair alto saxophonist in the Texas All-State
Band and playing out with local Austin, Texas, mainstay band The Alice
Rose.
Following high school, the
talented Solomon went to Berklee College of Music in Boston for three
years before being recruited to play keyboards and sing background
vocals for the internationally-known all-female country band Mustang
Sally. During her years with Mustang Sally, in which the band played
more than 200 shows a year all over the world, Solomon honed her stage
show.
After deciding to leave the
road and pursue her own solo career, Solomon has been playing and
collaborating with Nashville music industry notables such as Heidi
Newfield, Adam Hood and mega-hit songwriters Tia Sellers and Mark Selby.
One of Solomon’s songs, “Peter and Gladys,” which she co-wrote with
fellow Berklee alumnus Kyle James Hauer, was featured in Season 4 of
MTV’s “16 and Pregnant.” Solomon also has been serving as musical
director for a number of Carnival Music Publishing’s live and studio
productions.
