PIONEER MUSIC MUSEUM

PIONEER MUSIC MUSEUM

We
are getting ready for the June 14th show to honor Governor Brandstad’s
request that the entire week be called “Museum Week” in Iowa, and
encouraged all museums to do something special to call attention to
their memory houses.  We definitely are going to do something special,
we will have the very gifted Red Johnson in concert to help raise money
to help fix the roof that is leaking in the museum.  Red is the guy who
recorded “There’s A Grand Ole Opry Show Playing Somewhere” for Capitol
records, and also wrote songs for Dave Dudley.  Some of his songs were
recorded by Rex Allen and Hank Thompson, but it was Dudley that did most
of them.  We will have the Pioneer Music Museum open, free of charge,
for the evening of June 14th.  We still have some ‘cleaning-up’ to do
while we are waiting for a roof repair person to come see what needs to
be done to the roof, but hopefully the museum will be in pretty good
shape by June 14th.
